About us

With over 30 years of experience and knowledge of the Caribbean Boating scene, Christopher Marshall jumped at the opportunity to acquire FKG in 2017 taking over the reigns from its founders, marking a new era for the company. Wishing to expand the technical capabilities of the company to meet the needs of larger yachts, Chris was able to partner with Norina and Fabrice of IMM Yachting then based in Guadeloupe. By leveraging their experience in yacht refit and repair, FKG strengthened its capabilities. In the following period of strong expansion, FKG has acquired Dockside and together with IMM Yachting, now forms an unrivaled powerhouse to support the vessels in the region and beyond. Currently in its 40th year, and combined with its strong presence and team, FKG has redefined excellence in the yachting sector, championing the growth of the industry in Sint Maarten, and supporting local communities while answering the needs of visiting yachts and superyachts.

Meet the Team

History

Founded by sailing enthusiasts Frank, Kevin, and Gordon, ‘FKG’ emerged from a genuine passion for the sea and a commitment to supporting the Caribbean sailing community. Starting from their humble 20-foot container, the trio quickly established a reputation for reliability and excellence.

Joined by the renowned ocean racer and rigging expert Kim (known as Shag) Morton, FKG became a beacon for cruisers seeking top-notch yet affordable repairs. Kevin Davin, the brains behind the operations, never left the islands after arriving with his family on a cruiser, setting up shop and laying the foundations for FKG’s growth. Gordon, with his expertise in machining and hydraulics, completed the team.

Initially focused on boatyard and rigging services, FKG expanded into metal fabrication and machining to meet the growing demands of clientele. Their technical capabilities evolved, incorporating hydraulic services and establishing key partnerships with major brands like Suzuki.

Today, FKG offers an extensive range of services and products plus a full inventory of stainless steel equipment, hoses, and fittings. Their facilities boast a 120ft dock, a 55ft dock, and the capability to accommodate 6-8 boats. Partnering with Bobby’s Megayard, FKG can handle haul-outs using a 150T travel lift, catering for yachts up to 40 meters in length.

With a rich history rooted in sailing and a passion for community support, FKG continues to lead the way in the yacht industry, providing unparalleled services and expertise.
